The Last Prophecy

The Last Prophecy (working title) is a modern fantasy novel taking place in a small forest town in Greece.Vasileios - Basil, to his friends - wants nothing more than to escape his tiny corner of the woodland. After being harassed and beaten by a gang of his peers, Basil's still life changes forever when he wakes up in a strange forest cabin. There, he meets Galilei — a callous, yet enchanting oracle’s apprentice who tends to his wounds, and claims the ability to read fate, though strangely, he refuses to.Their blossoming relationship doesn’t come without its setbacks — primarily in the form of Galilei’s mentor, the enigmatic prophet from whom their relationship must be kept hidden from at all costs. Thus, the question remains: can two boys challenge the will of a prophet, the gods, and the very threads of destiny itself… and survive?Want to know more about the characters?

Vasileios "Basil" Stavropolous

Basil is a sweetheart through and through. Completely obsessed with football, ancient history and the band Queen, Basil pours his heart and soul into everything he does, much to the annoyance of peers who find his constant rants and lack of social awareness insufferable. He dreams of escaping the confines of his small town and moving on to bigger and better things.Basil’s constant desire to leave stems from his difficult home life, living alone in a small apartment with an alcoholic aunt who barely gives him the time of day. He pours himself into everything in hopes of earning some validation from those around him, however unlikely. Deep down, all his passions are a distraction for a young boy with crushing insecurity.

Galilei

Ah, Galilei, the enigmatic prophet’s apprentice. Though brandishing a mind sharp as a dagger, he’s aloof and cold to strangers, which masks a fundamental truth of Galilei’s identity: he has zero social skills. The isolation of being “chosen by the gods” has left Galilei struggling to connect with anyone, especially those his age.His home life didn’t help this. Galilei has lived alone with his mentor, Apostolis, almost his entire life, certainly with no memory of anything prior. While other children learned arithmetic and English, Galilei learned to read the threads of fate itself. Under Apostolis’ strict guidance, he’s found himself in an odd middle ground between humanity and the divine — and struggles to understand where, and with whom, he belongs. That all said, one thing is clear. The injured boy he brought home one fateful night was bound to rock his understanding of the world to its very core.

Apostolis

The mysterious prophet rumored to live deep in the forests where no man should venture, near the crumbling shrine to Apollo that history forgot.Apostolis is Galilei’s strict mentor. An ominous man by nature, he has taught Galilei everything he knows — including his cold disposition and strong dislike of strangers.Since the death of his mentor when Apostolis was young, he’s harbored a devastating fear of angering the gods; when Basil wandered in to Galilei’s life, Apostolis, rightfully, began to fear the worst — that his own apprentice, his son in all but title, would repeat the very same mistake that cost his mentor’s life.

Alexandra "Aleka" Karagianni

Nobody, and I do mean nobody, calls Aleka by her full name "Alexandra". Devilishly intelligent and never left une-quip-ped, she's Basil's ride-or-die childhood best friend and quite possibly the only other queer kid in town. She cherishes their tiny village with an undeniable love, even though she may be the only one in her generation who does.Aleka is a DIY queen; brash independence is the name of her game. She never leaves an article of clothing the way she got it - no bag unpainted, no pants un-embroidered. She loves anything with a floral or "nature-y" theme that connects her to her roots - no pun intended.

Euthymios

Euthymios is a mystery to all who never got the chance to know him. This is the name of Apostolis’ mentor, whose life was cut tragically short when Apostolis wasn’t yet a teenager. In life, Euthymios was an enigmatic, if playful man, who spoke much and said very little about himself. He boasted a casual relationship with the gods that eventually took his life. Before his time came to an abrupt end, he raised Apostolis to share the love for nature that he had. He never lived to see the man his apprentice would turn out to be.

Magda Rapti

Magda is the sweet-and-sour old lady who owns the only craft store in town. She's often seen giving her stock of fabrics to Galilei free of charge, in exchange for his cooking. While she's technically retired, she loves her store and its loyal customers far too much to turn over ownership to anyone else. They'll have to pry those sewing needles out of her cold, dead hands - or so she says. She's doting, just a bit sassy as any lady in her retirement ought to be, and the closest person to a grandparent figure that Galilei has ever known. Her stories are the stuff of quite literal myth, to anyone with the patience to listen.

Gunslingers

Gunslingers is the working title of a brand-new project. The story follows a prolific bounty hunting duo: Maggie Fitzroy, a former stay-at-home mom who wanted more out of her life, and Cassandra Morendo-Lazaro, a vampire who desperately wishes to feel like a human again while fixated on dolling out the “justice” she never received.
